What’s Your Favorite and Why?

Writer’s conference?  Have you attended a writer’s conference in the last year? If so, how many? You will find some are called writer’s festivals, retreats, and workshops. These opportunities for writers are held all over the country. You probably have some in your own state as well as your city.

You’ve heard many authors tell you how important conferences are for writers. At these meetings, you meet other writers, editors, agents, and publishers. They are great places for writers to network and make contacts that will help their careers. These contacts develop into friendships that last a lifetime.

You learn techniques on how to write better. The do’s and don’ts and the ins and outs are shared. Authors willingly share their stories on how they were published, how they found their agent and even whom they recommend for editing.  You will find aspects in every genre for the writer. Conferences provide exceptional educational experiences for writers. Just one idea can make the difference in your manuscript being accepted. They can take your writing skill to a new level.

If you have been to a conference, did you go to a small one or a large one? Have you been to both? What was the biggest difference besides the size? What was the most important information you learned at the conference that helped your writing? Did you make important contacts that could benefit your career as a writer?

After all, conferences cost money.  People want to make sure going to conferences is worth it.
